Snickerdoodles

1 cup shortening
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups white sugar
2 3/4 cups of flour
1 tsp baking powder
2 tsps cream of tartar
1/4 tsp salt
2 tbsp ground cinnamon
2 tbsp white sugar

Preheat oven to 400.  Mix shortening and white sugar until smooth.  Add cream of tartar, salt and baking powder and blend eggs one at a time.  Stir in flour slowly until blended well.  Roll dough into walnut sized balls.  Mix 2 tbsp white sugar with 2 tbsp white cinnamon.  Roll dough balls around in sugar/cinnamon mixture.  Place dough balls 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.  Bake for 8-10 minutes each until very lightly brown.  Let rest on elevated cooling racks until just above room temperature.  Enjoy!
